Registered Social Worker
Hi I’m Justin
(he/him)
I have experience supporting individuals of various ages and stages of life, with a range of concerns and goals, including those who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence or relational trauma. I work with seniors, adults, adolescents and youth (ages 10+) and enjoy supporting clients with anxiety, healing shame, or building self esteem and worthiness. I also hold a safe and validating space for male survivors of sexual abuse, violence, and/or childhood trauma.
My approach to therapy is to build an authentic, trusting relationship that feels safe to be honest, open and constructive – free of judgement, shame or stigma, where you can feel heard, understood and valued.
In our work together, I take a client-empowering, person-centered approach, which means that I am here to honour your story, highlight your strengths, and invite you to consider strategies, perspectives, or knowledge which you can choose to incorporate into your wellness. I offer myself as a sounding board for you, as you reflect on your own experiences, thoughts, feelings, and needs.
I may share psychoeducation and knowledge and/or share about lived experiences to help validate and normalize what you’re going through and perhaps help you feel less alone in your journey. I am trained in the Integrated Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model (ITATM). I also use elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Together, we can explore what approaches work best for you. I also have training in Gender and Sexual Diversity in Youth, as well as Codependency, Narcissism & Trauma Bonding.
