Ashleigh Martel, BA

Psychotherapy Intern – Bilingual Services

Bonjour, I’m Ashleigh (she/her/elle)

I am passionate about helping others build tools to thrive, or find themselves again! I work with children, adolescents and adults, and I particularly enjoy supporting seniors. My focus areas are: anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, emotion-regulation, stress, and supporting clients with acquired brain injury.

My goal is to provide my clients with a collaborative approach centered on their unique needs, goals, and strengths. I work alongside clients helping them reach their goals, developing tools and skills along the way to help them succeed, whether that’s in improving mental health, manage emotion, or increase functioning in activities of daily living.

I support clients through active listening, and compassionate guidance, without judgement, blame or shame; instead with empathy and understanding, I meet clients where they are at!

I have experience in mental health-adjacent fields: working with individuals who live with brain injuries, as a program coordinator and facilitator; and as a rehabilitation support worker, where I assisted clients and families reach goals related to activities of daily living. I also have some training and experience in providing psychometric assessments for children and adolescents. I am trained in Cognitive Interventions for Adults with Acquired Brain Injury, Understanding Dementia, Neurorehabilitation: Assisting Recovery and Function in Every Day Life, and general mental health and addictions trainings. I am currently enrolled in further trainings for working with children, highly sensitive children, and children with ADHD or ASD. I am currently completing my Psychotherapy diploma, and practice under the clinical supervision of Vanessa Hazelwood (MA, RP).

I’m here to help you overcome or manage challenges in your life, and help you thrive. I look forward to working with you!
