Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hi, I’m Kevin (he/him)
I am a compassionate therapist who prioritizes building strong and comfortable therapeutic relationships with my clients. I work with youth and teens (age 9+), male clients, and couples; and help my clients build healthy relationships, healing attachment trauma, rejection or abandonment.
Many clients connect with me for support with building self-esteem, setting and holding healthy boundaries, navigating ADHD and self-regulation, preventing and managing burnout and stress, or working through anxiety or depression. I also have training and experience working with Indigenous clients and families who may be affected by intergenerational trauma or addiction.
I enjoy helping clients develop tools for difficult emotions (such as anger or shame) or navigating difficult relationships. I often help clients process trauma and build emotion regulation skills, so they feel they have a solid foundation under them to take steps forward.
I am passionate about being a safe and supportive person for clients who have experienced pain in their personal relationships, or who lack a support system in their daily lives. If you feel you can only rely on yourself, if you’re feeling lost, or don’t feel fully understood or supported by those around you, I provide a safe and empowering space for you to feel heard, valued, and connected, while we work through the challenges you’re facing.
I specialize in trauma, neurodiversity, and couples therapy.
With clinical experience and training, I offer a special focus on healing relationship trauma (abandonment, abuse, rejection), as well as youth and teens who have had involvement with the legal system or Child and Family Services. I offer affirming care to clients who are diagnosed with or suspect they have ADHD or Autism, and I have a strong passion for helping clients work through difficult personal, romantic or workplace relationship dynamics.
In couples therapy, I offer a calming presence, and guidance to help clients understand one another better, to express themselves constructively and to re-connect as they work through conflict, communication challenges, and difficult cycles they may experience. I enjoy helping couples find clarity, connection and closeness.
I utilize a client-centered approach that focuses on evidenced-based practices. Some of the techniques and modalities I incorporate are: Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Psychodynamic and Gestalt Therapy. I also utilize renowned therapies for working with couples, including: the Gottman Method, Emotion-Focused Therapy and Relational Therapy.
